Thanks
to a local mission and Three Rivers Providers
Network (TRPN), a national PPO, school
children in Kampala, the capital of Uganda in
East Africa, will have a brand-new school and
supplies for the community's teachers and children.
These organizations have given generously of their
time and financial means to make sure these children
have a fresh start and a promising future.
Though it took hard work and took a great deal of coordination, the group managed to plan and begin construction on the new building. Though the construction crew had to deal with heavy rains that came with strong winds and hailstones, the construction will soon be complete. The children were excited to see that their new school would have sinks, toilets and showers to use, something that they had not been familiar with at their old school. Actually, the old school consisted of temporary, basic sheds.
Three Rivers Providers Network and
the mission have already been able to buy more
than 100 pairs of shoes, plenty of school supplies
and 30 beds for orphan children who attend the
school. They will soon purchase chair/desk combinations
and at least two sewing machines. During their
visit, the pastor commented, "The children
are so excited." He is so pleased with the
generosity of the TRPN family
and wants them to know how grateful he and the
Kampala community are. "The smiles on the
kids say it all!" |
